Bending
Bending-off/folding is an acknowledged production method for bending metal plates and a bending-off press offers many possibilities
The mechanical construction of a bending-off press is very simple:
An upper tool, most often shaped like a wedge, is pressed with tremendous pressure towards a lower tool, shaped like a V. The sheet metal is placed between the tools, and the plate is bent between the tools.
Hosta Industries A/S's bending-off press is CNC-controlled, which allows for precision steering of both the object position and the tool position.
As such, besides precision and uniformity, items can often be finished in a single process, even when there are many different bends in the object. Bending-off is the most flexible, precise and economic method of bending sheet metal items in small and medium-sized series, and it is the only method of bending large items.
At Hosta Industries A/S, we bend up to three metres in length with pressure of 160 tonnes and with 8 controlled axes. The combination of CNC-control, 8 axes and many tools means that we can bend any material thickness.
The company also offers bending in special shapes (e.g. radii, trapezoids), where we produce bending tools especially for the project at competitive prices.
With our large capacity in the bending department at Hosta Industries A/S, we are better able to coordinate and handle both large and small bending projects simultaneously.
The complicated plate metal developments are carried out by our technicians using 3D drawing programs, while the more simple drawing work can be done at our work stations for CAD drawings in 2D. Customers are welcome to send their 3D drawings by email.
